Home for the Holidays

Hearts turn a bit more toward home for the holidays. At Betenbough Homes, home is our business, so here are some quick tips to add a creative touch to your happy home during this special season!

1. Work Around a Centerpiece

This could be something that adds height such as candles or a mini Christmas trees. Another great option is a continuous piece that adds length to your table while providing open sight lines for conversation such as a scarf, blanket, or garland used as a runner.

2. Personalize the Place Settings

Personalize each place setting to make your guests feel special! Simply add a hand-written nametag or a small gift at each seat for guests to take home.

3. Serve Special Food

If decorating isn’t your thing, you can’t go wrong with food! To keep it easy try having a buffet or finger foods set out and a drink station for an easy, self-serve system. As a hostess you’ll be able to focus on conversations and not be stuck in the kitchen. A hot chocolate bar is always a hit!

The holidays are especially magical for children. Here are some ideas for helping the kids have tons of fun at your holiday gathering (and for keeping them entertained so the adults can enjoy a meal together)!

4. Provide Crafts for the Kids

Have a simple, mess-free craft ready for the kids at your party. Ornaments made from pipe-cleaners and beads allow for endless creativity but require no messy glue, markers, or glitter! Get the details for this craft here.

5. Offer an Activity Sheet

A word search, coloring page, or activity sheet can keep kids happy for quite a while. Find lots of printables here. With just the addition of some crayons, the children at your party can work puzzles, color pictures, and connect-the-dots to their hearts' content!

6. Set up a Decorating Station

We hope these tips bring your family home for the holidays. May you have more laughs and memories this season that ever before. And if all you want for Christmas is a new home to celebrate in, schedule your VIP appointment here!
