Day Trips
Odessa offers plenty of fun and excitement for all, but if you're looking for a quick trip to discover new places, allow us to guide you to several great spots just hours away from the Permian Basin! Alpine is a common day trip location just over two hours from Odessa. Known for its scenic beauty and rich history, the city offers a variety of interactive tours, museums, and over 30 acres of parks with designated spaces for kids of all ages!
Carlsbad Caverns is another excellent day trip location just under three hours from Odessa. Situated in southeastern New Mexico, Carlsbad Caverns is home to the deepest limestone cave in the country, and the fifth-longest known cave in the world!
Balmorhea State Park is a fun place to venture during the summer, just under two hours from Odessa. This historic park boasts the world’s largest spring-fed swimming pool! Other day trip locations include San Angelo, just over two hours from Odessa, and Lake Allen Henry, two and a half hours from Odessa.
