While Lubbock has many names, we call it home. Betenbough Homes was founded in Lubbock in 1992, and it holds a special place in our hearts to this day. 

We asked our Lubbock teams to share some of their favorite spots in the city for coffee, entertainment, and more! If you're new to the area, or have been around a while, this list will help you locate some of Hub City's hidden gems!

Coffee Shops

Lubbock might just have the most coffee shops per capita of any city in Texas. There's one on nearly every corner, and new spots seem to pop up daily! We have all the beloved national chains, but our locally-owned shops offer a unique, authentic experience and, in our opinion, a superior cup of joe. Our teams frequent Ninety-Two Bakery & Café, Sugar Browns, J & B Coffee, Monomyth, and Gold Stripe to get their caffeine fix! 

Restaurants

If you're on the hunt for good barbecue, Lubbock is the place to be! Evie Mae's is a West Texas favorite located in Wolfforth. They serve up delicious meats, sides, and desserts Tues-Sun until they're sold out. Other Hub City favorites include:

• Las Brisas for a high-end dining experience
• The Funky Door for excellent wine and live music
• Dirk's for flavor-filled chicken
• Orlando's for a unique Texan take on classic Italian dishes

Shopping

Lubbock has all the charm of a small town with the benefit of big-city amenities. Shopping centers like West End and Kingsgate include a wide variety of stores to choose from. Shop Lululemon, James Avery, Talbots, Banana Republic, Nike Factory, Gap Factory, and so much more! 

Entertainment & Recreation

Lubbock is considered by many to be a "family town," and there are plenty of family-friendly activities to enjoy year-round! The Science Spectrum is a local favorite boasting over 250 hands-on science exhibits and live science shows. Take the action and excitement outdoors at Adventure Park, which offers zip-lining, go-kart racing, ropes courses, and more. In the fall, be sure to visit At'l Do Farms for their legendary corn maze. 

As a college town, Lubbock has plenty of sporting events to enjoy throughout the year. Catch a Texas Tech football game at the Jones, a basketball game at the U.S.A., or a baseball game at Rip Griffin Park. 

Looking for something a little more laid back? Kick your feet up on the dash and watch a movie at Lubbock's drive-in theatre, Stars & Stripes. 

Historical Spots

The Hub City is rich with history and offers so many ways to learn about West Texas. Enjoy the 19-acre historical part at the National Ranching Heritage Center. Visit the West Texas Walk of Fame. Attend a show at Buddy Holly Hall, where exhibits and performances reflect the diverse culture of our region. Explore the Lubbock Lake Landmark, where ancient artifacts, bones, and fossils have been uncovered. 

Day Trips

There are a plethora of exciting day trip locations just a few hours away from the Hub City. The Abilene Zoo is just a two-and-a-half-hour drive from the heart of Lubbock and boasts more than 1,000 animals from 250 different species. If you're looking for something a little more adventurous, head north to Caprock Canyons State Park, where you'll find 90 miles of hiking trails to explore. Here you can also enjoy horseback riding, fishing, and camping just an hour and a half away from Lubbock.
